How to Make a Turtle Tessellation
Purpose: Have you tried to make a tessellation that looks like a turtle? Well you’re in luck. If you read these steps you will know exactly what to do to make your own turtle tessellation.Materials
Card Stock Hexagon
Scissors
Tape
Paper (45 X 30)
Coloured Drawing utensils:
3 shades of Green and 1 Blue

Procedure
1 First label each angle of the hexagon, 1 to 6.

2 Then cut a curved line starting from angle 1 to angle 2 with the scissors and slide to the opposite side and tape it on.

3 Then cut a curved line starting from angle 2 to angle 3 with the scissors and slide to the opposite side and tape it on.

4 Then cut a another curved line starting from angle 1 to angle 6 with the scissors and slide to the opposite side, Tape it on.
(Now it is going to look like a turtle)

5 Next trace the turtle in the center of the  paper.

6 Now slide the turtle up until it fits in itself and trace. Repeat until the turtle goes off the page.

7 Now from the first turtle slide the turtle down until it fits inside itself and trace. Repeat until the turtle goes off the page.

8 Now start from beside the first turtle and move the shape up or down until it fits inside itself.

9 Repeat this process until the whole page is full.

10 Draw the body of the turtle within each of the shapes.

11 Finally colour the head of your turtle with your medium shade of green. Colour the shell the darkest shade of green. Colour the fins of the turtle the lightest shade of green, and colour all the empty space blue.

Tips and Hits
Now that you’ve finished making the turtle tessellation take some time to enjoy your master piece.
If your shape cannot fit into itself, make sure that after you slide the cut out pieces of the hexagon your pieces did not get reflected over.
